Idaho Gardener

All about gardening in Idaho and the Rocky Mountains, Zone 6 and I’m stickin to it

It was an inside job……….

November29

Today’s effort. Too cold to garden so I paint inside.

My BFF of TF said, “roll over, Renior.”IMG_8543.jpg

A big fat papaver somniferum seedhead, from my painting class this morning. It’s little on the shiny side in the photo but not so much up close and personal. And, quite frankly, it’s quite subdued for me. Usually I am flinging magenta and permanent rose and cad red all over the place.

Every time I use the word ’subdued’, this pops into my head: My husband tells me he “once was a dude, now he is sub-dued.” Or he says, “once upon a time I was a bitchin’ dude, now, alas, I am subdued.”

wow. you have a gift for the subtle, subdued, muted, mellow, quiet, calm, ummm, I’ve run out of handy synonyms. But I love your poppy seedhead, Ms. MA. Very much.
